Our bright and colorful children's room contains materials for children of all ages, from newborn babies to teens. We have board books, picture books, videos and books with tapes for the younger children. Our collection includes beginning reading books for the newest readers and easier chapter books for those just developing their skills.

Our junior reading section contains humorous and historical fiction, adventures and mysteries, as well as biographies. We have the Dorothy Canfield Fisher collection, the Newbery winners, as well as the books of Merritt Parmalee Allen, a Bristol author who wrote historical adventure stories.

The non-fiction section of the Children's Room contains many informational books on diverse subjects. There are dictionaries, encyclopedias and atlases to help answer research questions. Magazines include Ranger Rick, Sports Illustrated For Kids, Stone Soup, Spider and Family Fun.

Our audio book section includes cassette tapes and a beginning collection of compact discs. Many families listen to these books on tape or CDs together especially on longer car trips. We have a Young Explorer Computer Learning Center which includes learning games of math, science, and reading.

A special parenting section has been established to facilitate parenting and includes books, as well as magazines, which deal with such issues as the emotional and physical needs of children, adoption, divorce and family activities.

There is something for all, come in, relax and enjoy and start your child on a lifelong love of the library and all its magic.
